Welcome
My first time blogging - doing this for the sake of my students. Got to keep up with the times and use whatever resources available to keep them interested in using English as often as they can. It's all the more urgent since my students are all from the same race and tend to lapse into their mother tongue when out of earshot of their teachers. Don't really blame them as that's their comfort zone and communication is so much more efficient when using one's first language.
Since they will be sitting for the IELTS in 9 months' time (we've just started classes), I'm trying to get them to use English as often as they can. When it comes to writing, I know they won't be practising on their own - after all, who wants to practice writing in their spare time ??!! So hopefully blogging will do the trick.
I'm now at the computer lab with my first blogging class - 7.9. They are TESL students so they should have quite a bit to write about.
Well, will just have to wait and see....(keeping my fingers crossed!!)
Cheers!!
